Negotiating the various membership tiers of the PMI had become a complex and narrow process, out of step with the needs of the Pension industry. It was time to re-imagine how its membership worked, with a simpler, yet more accessible structure.

So, we created PMI Pathways, where all members can follow one of the five set routes, without any dead ends, or false starts. A programme of modernisation such as this can of course be confusing in itself, if the old, flawed system is long-standing. So we went further to communicate its benefits, as well as its technical improvements, to make buy-in easy.

The sub-brand itself, with explainer videos and a suite of materials to accompany it, has been warmly welcomed by Members from all levels and all walks of life within the industry. With diversity and accessibility at its heart, ‘Pathways’ has proved to be a big leap forward. Very apt for such a progressive organisation.
